A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Played indoors on a badminton-sized court with a lowered net, Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. We have spare paddles (bats) for those wishing to try their hand before committing to buying their own equipment. You should wear non marking shoes to avoid damaging the courts.

We usually play doubles in timed segments of 10 minutes. This ensures an equal distribution of playing time for all participants. participants can expect to be on court for between 70 and 90 minutes of a two hour session.

While Pickleball is less strenuous than squash or badminton a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required. Please note that U3A insurance does not cover you for injury.
